Who is Certified Texas Farm-Raised Catfish?
Certified Texas Farm-Raised Catfish is brought to you by the 35 farm families who own and operate the Texas Aquaculture Company. Our group consists of family-owned diversified farms which include grain, cotton, hay, aquaculture (bass, catfish, crawfish, shrimp) and livestock production. Our farmers not only raise Certified Texas Farm-Raised Catfish we also manage and oversee, processing, sales and marketing.
Locally Grown – Buying from local farmers is a benefit not only to our state's economy; it also provides peace of mind for food safety and security. Texas Aquaculture Company (TAC) catfish are raised in ponds in Calhoun, Jackson, Matagorda, Wharton and Victoria counties. TAC provides you peace of mind by knowing that your fish are raised by a neighbor and not in another country where producers and processors are not subject to the same strict laws as in the United States.
Farmer Owned – Family farmers in the Texas Aquaculture Company take extra care in raising catfish - our livelihood depends on it! Farmers and TAC members do whatever it takes to ensure that all products leaving our plant are the safest and tastiest possible.
